This was recorded at the Garfield Park Conservatory on August 1, 2009, during a soundwalk organized by the World Listening Project. The final 2/3 of this recording includes talk by beekeepers and close up sounds of bees by the hive.

I took this photo on 8/1/2009. GCC has a full-time beekeeper, and they also have volunteer beekeepers. They open up the hives twice a week, and the WLP soundwalk happened on Saturday morning, when the hives were open.
